SVITLANA SYRTSOVA received her Doctor of Musical Arts degree (D.M.A.) in Piano Performance from the Ukrainian Academy of Music, Kiev, and Master of Education (Ed.M.) from Teachers College, Columbia University, New York, USA.
She has been a 2nd Special Award winner of the 21st Bartok-Prokofiev International Piano Competition, Radford, VA, and a finalist of the 9th Simone Belsky Competition, Litchfield, CT and J. S. Bach Piano Competition, Boston, MA. Svitlana Syrtsova performed extensively as a piano recitalist and a chamber musician and developed a diverse repertoire, which included music from Baroque to Contemporary. In 2010, together with her husband, pianist Sergey Krivonos, Svitlana founded Syrtsova-Krivonos Piano Duet, since then, the duet has been successfully performing in New York/Tri-State Area.
Svitlana Syrtsova is teaching at Lucy Moses School, Riverdale YM-YWHA Music School and maintains private studio in New York. She is a member of MTNA and NYSMTA .
